How do you start an eldercare business in Florida?

My friend told me she wants to devote the rest of her life to businesses catering to all aspects of eldercare and even to start an Assisted Living Facility. She has 20 years of experience in health care and management. I want to jump on the bandwagon as well, but I have no paid experience in health care (but I am volunteering for Hospice, American Red Cross, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and Alzheimer’s Project been involved since my junior year of high school back in 2001) but I do have business experience (managerial and financial). I am also finishing my B.S. in Business Administration (concentration in finance) and completed a pre-medical curriculum. If accepted to medical school, I want my residency to be either geriatrics or pediatrics and to also take a fellowship in integrative medicine. Your help will be greatly appreciated. In the United States, adult day cares are growing and thriving — and I imagine especially in Florida. Adult day cares typically are an alternative to traditional nursing homes, and service is aimed to be more personal and cost is more affordable. The aging of the baby boomers is ensuring that this business has high demand. Typical clientele include elderly men and women who cannot live safely in their own homes, but do not require the full-time skilled nursing care provided by convalescent hospitals. They are looking for minimal supervision and assistance — as well as companionship — in order to live independently as possible.

I love video home editing. I’m considering starting a business to teach others. Is there a market here?

I’d like to know if there are parents, grandparents, or others who have a digital camera and tons of photos and videos on their PC and just don’t know how to start making home video movies to share with their friends and families? Since my daughter was born I have a passion for taking photos and small videos of her and my wife. I create DVD’s and other media I can email to friends and family literally around the world. ‘First steps’, ‘Dance recitals’, ‘Riding without training wheels’, etc. I love it, and believe others would as well. Wading through all the hardware and software choices can be daunting. How much would someone pay to be taught, and how much time would they invest in learning how to do this? I am just an amatuer, but my computer and electronics background has really helped me dig into this and I believe I can help others who wish to capture their family memories, share them with others, and keep those memories safe forever. Where can I find a good home finance organizer?

Walmart carried one that I’ve used for years and it was made by Dayrunner. They don’t seem to carry it any longer. The manager was of no help either as to whether or not they just didn’t come in yet but I’ve looked for weeks and nothing. It had a velcro flap. It had pages with pockets for each month. I’d write what bill I paid and when, and I’d tuck the bill in the pocket. It was so easy to be organized that way. I loved it and can’t find another like it either. how should I treat my dog and home for fleas?

My dog has recently had his hair cut and a shampoo which we have done relatively regurlaly, the person who did it for us told us that the dog had some fleas but he had manages to get rid of them from the dog but my house may still have some, the house is always kept clean and we vac all carpeted areas throughly, with my dog now haivng shorter hair im sure that at the first sign of fleas we will notice and be able to get rid of any on him. Is is essential for me to use a treatment on carpets etc or will repeated cleaning be enough?
