Well, there’s this guy at my school, Ryan, and we’re both freshmen. I don’t know if he’s gay or not but I really want to ask him to homecoming in a couple of weeks. Advice?
I know what you mean, you can never know a person’s status unless its obvious (which is sometimes misleading), or they tell you. It’s difficult to ask, but what you can do is ask him if he has a girlfriend. If he says yes, i’m sorry. If he says no, ask why, but be calm. He may not want to be that open if he doesn’t know you that well, but just make him feel like he can trust you, and he should be ok with telling you if he is. I wish you the best luck!
Silent Hill Homecoming HD The Secret Reveals & The Other World Shepherd House P34
The world is at war. A young man bravely kisses his weeping bride goodbye at the train station, leaving her all alone. Then the dreaded telegram, and a decision that nearly tears her apart-A little girl grows into womanhood, unaware of the forces that swirl around her past and her future….
More and more parents are pulling their children from public and private schools to educate them themselves. The reasons vary from religious values to being tired of over crowded public school system that is trying to produce cookie cutter results. The reasons are as varied as the families. For many this seemingly daunting task becomes an epiphany of self education as well. It is a life long journey of self discovery, adventure and pure joy as you watch your children blossom and develop.
There are as many styles of home schooling as their families that are doing it. Many choose a traditional, classic way of teaching their children. Purchasing and or creating curriculum and setting schedules and dead lines. There are subject experts that many will use as an example to set up their educational program such Charlotte Mason. Many have chosen a realatively new method referred to as unschooling. This is a living aproach to educating your child(ren). Using their environment and world around them as the classroom. This is more of a lifestyle that allows children to explore and absorb knowledge naturally.
Whatever the reason or method the growing number causes some concerns for the public school system. While some states make it realatively easy to home schools others fear releasing the education of children to their parents. One of the many arguments for homeschooling is that parents know their children better than their teachers and other education professional do. Parents can created a positive learning environment with one on one education and personalized curriculums. Colleges and universities are accomadating these larger numbers of home schoolers, realizing that many may not have sat for standard testing that they require. Children who have been home schooled tend to excel in higher education more so than children who have been through the public school system. Their education has been broader and they do not feel the need to treat college as an escape. They value their education as it has been part of their life as a whole, not just a portion of their day spent away from family and rushing from class to class.
Families sometimes struggle with the decision to home school. They worry about their children learning the “right” things and socialization. Children are natural learners, every thing is new for them, and each child learns differently. Home schooling provides the atmosphere and tools for life long learning skills. Socialization does not have to be limited to a classroom of their peers. The ability to talk to any one, any where intelligently is of more value in life.
Once a family decides to home school they typically run into unsupportive reactions from family and friends, often times these well meaning people do not initially see the benefits. In most local areas and often times through discussion boards such as Yahoo Groups, home schooling families find support. A very important factor for parents. Like minds to bounce ideas off of and who enjoy sharing this educational, life journey.
It is daunting and there are always concerns about what and how your child(ren) are learning. Something to keep in mind when chosing this journey with your children. We have been home schooling since they took their first breath. We have taught them to sit, walk, crawl, talk, eat and so much more. Why should it stop because they reach a certain age? Children are still the worlds greatest resource and the love and respect necessary to create future leaders and well adjusted citizens rests with the parents.

Homeschooling mom, freelance writer, self published author, avid gardener, these are just a few of the terms one could use to describe me. I am currently writing several cookbooks that will be available by the end of the year, a book on frugal and healthy living, and a variety of fiction short stories and novels.
I am continuing my educational goals beyond my AS in Science to include a BA in Interactive Media with a minor in graphic arts. I have in the past run my own successful Certified Naturally Grown market garden and my own family oriented magazine. I am a strong believer in controlling my own destiny.
I have been with my wonderful husband for twelve years and we have two beautiful, creative children. Currently we reside in Myrtle Beach, SC and love it. Outside of the tourist attractions it is really a sleepy little town with a lot to offer a homeschooling family.

my middle son (who’s 22) has made some choices in his life that has kept him in circumstances like jail, homelessness and jobless. We (me and my husband) have gone beyond and overboard trying to lead him in the right direction all to no avail. I have finally decided to “Detach with Love” and apply “Tough Love” I no longer give him money or drive him around town or jump every time he calls. Now all he says to me is how much of a horrible mother I am, that I don’t care what happens to him, that all I care about is myself and if he dies I’ll be sorry then.
I know that I have given more to him then the other 2 children (28 & 16) because of mental disability (ADHD, conduct disorder) and before I understood about this disability the guilt I carried was more then I could handle. I had always thought it was my fault. Now I know about the disability and know it’s not my fault. But now he’s playing the guilt trip with me.
When is tough love too tough?
As hard as it is, you are doing the right thing. I know you have, but handing it over to God is the best you can do at this point. He (your son) knows what you and your husband have done and that’s where he bases his guilt from. The only thing you should give him now ( and make sure you tell him this ) is your prayers and any outside guidance facility or counsel he can utilize. Your his mom and always will be, but being a mom does not mean carrying the burdens of your family, especially when they are grown. He’ll come around in time, because you may not physically be there as much, but your heart is in the right place and he will have to make it HIS decision to get help, grow up and take responsibility for his own actions. And sin is just that, it’s an action that we all can potentially control if we choose. You know I’m here, and if you need to talk, you got my number. God Bless you!
“IT’S STILL TRUE.” That’s the first thing James Tillerman says to his sister Dicey every morning. It’s still true that their mother has abandoned the four Tillerman children somewhere in the middle of Connecticut. It’s still true they have to find their way, somehow, to Great-aunt Cilla’s house in Bridgeport, which may be their only hope of staying together as a family. But when they get to Brid…
This book goes far beyond covering the subject of homelessness as the social problem we all recognize in our cities. Mass emigrations, displaced families, and human alienation from the earth all mark our times. In critiquing contemporary North American culture, Steven Bouma-Prediger and Brian Walsh discuss various forms of homelessness — socioeconomic, ecological, and psycho-spiritual — and crea…
The real estate market is far different than it was several years ago. Now, homes may linger on the market for months or years without a sale or even an offer. Nevertheless, some properties do sell quickly. Understanding why some sell and others do not is essential to helping your own home sell quickly in a buyer’s market.
The first two reasons listings expire are condition and staging. High housing inventories and longer market times allow buyers to be more discriminating, so the home in the best condition and best presentation is more likely to sell first.
The third essential element in ensuring a successful sale is an effective marketing program. Previously we examined the difference between listing and marketing: listing is simply announcing that your home is for sale; marketing involves developing and implementing a strategy for attracting potential buyers to your home.
A listing may sell, eventually, even with very little marketing. In a buyer’s market, however, without marketing the odds are it will not sell or will take a long time, which can be expensive in both holding costs and price erosion.
Proper marketing involves getting the word out and making sure your home is promoted differently than the average home for sale.
Getting the Word Out
It is essential that your home be listed and advertised in as many places as possible. The larger the potential buyer pool, the more likely that the “right” buyer will find your home. The five main outlets are the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), internet, print advertising, signage, and inter-office and outer-office networking.
Setting Your Home Apart
It’s not enough to simply alert the buyers. Reaching the largest potential buyer pool possible increases the likelihood of finding the right buyer quickly. Your home must stand out from the rest. Here are several ways your agent can maximize your home’s visibility:
MLS – Make sure the information is complete and accurate. This is not the area to take shortcuts. Photos should be taken by a professional to best showcase your home. Multiple photographs illustrating key features of your home and a virtual tour are a must.
Maximize Exposure – If you’re in an area with overlapping MLS’s, be sure your agent lists your home in both systems. Again, the more potential buyers who learn of your home, the more likely your home will sell quickly.
Internet – In most MLS’s your home is on the internet as a service of the MLS. Steps can be taken in many of the national key websites to enhance the listing. More comments can be added, as well as photos, room counts, virtual tours etc. It’s extra work and more expensive, but well worth it. You want to be sure your home makes the buyer’s “short list” of homes to visit in person.
Print Advertising – Some would argue that print advertising is not that effective but personal experience has been the more we do the better the results. Many local “move up” buyers who are casually shopping will look at local homes magazines before sitting down to do a dedicated search. Frequently the print ad gets the buyer’s attention, then they go to the internet for more information.
Signage – The bigger the better. Directional signs work well if allowed by town ordinance.
Networking – This is the “extra mile” that you need your agent to go. Networking involves a lot of extra work, but a busy agent is in contact all day long with other agents — both in their own office and in other agencies — who have buyers in various price ranges. Taking the time to make sure those agents know about your home expands the potential buyer pool even farther. As much as the internet has helped increase visibility, you still can’t beat good old fashion person-to-person promotion.
Direct Mailings – Targeted mailings to your neighborhood can help. Your neighbors probably won’t buy your home, but they might have a friend who would.
Open Houses – Although open houses are notoriously ineffective at producing a sale, a professionally-hosted open house will produce a direct buyer in about 1 of 50 open houses. Yours may be the 50th! Plus the more people who see your home, the more likely the right buyer will see it.
A Lead Capture System – Your agent should have an effective way of getting a prospective buyer’s name and phone number. Brochure boxes are very convenient for buyers, but they provide no means for your agent to follow up with prospects. There are systems that can capture the buyer’s name and phone number so your agent can check with the buyer to see if there is any interest.
Guaranteed Sale Program – The buyer who has a home to sell before they can buy yours is at a disadvantage unless your agent has a guaranteed sale program. This sort of program may encourage a buyer to choose your home over someone else’s since it removes the hassle of a contingent offer.
The Choice is Yours
A great agent will do everything they can to market your home and get it sold quickly and for top dollar. When selecting an agent, don’t make assumptions. You need an agent with a proven and consistent track record. Don’t rely on the reputation of the agency as every agent is an independent contractor with their own level of experience and success. You want the best working for you.

Worse Than Setting Your VCR: Home Network Installation
So you’ve made the decision to install a home network and you’re roaring and ready to go with it. But have you done it before? Perhaps the dreams of not fighting over who can go online next, streamlining your office, and sharing files with other computers in your home has you a bit excited. But do you know what type of network is best for you? Do you know the basic principles to installing a network in your home? Do you know how to set up a wireless network? If you answered “no” to any of these questions, then perhaps you should read on.
Network types
First of all, a network allows you to have multiple computers connected to the same internet connection, share files between the computers in your home, print documents through a printer that is connected to a different computer, and share files that are stored on other computers. It seems like a dream come true, doesn’t it? But what is the best type of network for you? You have to make the decision of whether or not you want a wireless network or a wired network. If you choose wireless, you have to know how to set it up so that all of the computers can talk wirelessly to the network router. If not all of the computers are wireless capable, then you may have to move to a wired network. With a wired network you have to worry about running wire throughout your home or investing in upgrades for your computers to make them wireless.
You also have to know what type of activities you and your family are going to be doing on all of the computers. This is because you want to invest in a router that can handle the load. If the router cannot handle the load, then you’re going to have computers within your home getting booted off of the network.
Network installation
The network installation part can be either easy or complicated. It depends on how you look at it. You have to have an internet connection and you have to know your network type. You also have to know what computers in your home are wireless capable and which are not in case you choose to do the upgrades instead of installing wire throughout your home. If you’re setting up a wireless network, the easiest way to connect is if you have Windows Connect Technology through your Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, or Windows 98/ME. Then again, you could be running a different operating system, which can make setting up your network a bit more difficult than if you were running on a Windows operating system.
An alternative
Then again, you could probably save yourself a lot of headaches by hiring a professional to take care of the installation process. A professional will do an assessment to determine what type of equipment you need to give you a network that is complete. If any of your computers need what is called a network adapter to become wireless capable, the installer can help you with that. Once all of the equipment is determined and acquired, the network installer can then run wire or set up your wireless network for you. You’ll be connected in no time and the only thing you have to do is reach in your wallet. Fortunately, home network installation is not an expensive endeavor and it takes a lot off of your mind. You don’t want to buy all of the wrong equipment, hook it up, and then find nothing works. If you’re not sure, turn to a professional so that you know everything is right.

I live in an eight bedroom home, and I was wondering do you think that my to girl’s should share a room especially since they are only babies? Ava is nineteen months old and Andy is only two months old. I have a baby monitor, one of the ones with the night vision camera so I can see them at night but I don’t feel safe with them in separate rooms, what do you think? Also I heard bassinets aren’t safe? I bought Andy a bassinet to go along with the nursery, but I heard they aren’t safe and I want my baby to be safe, should I just buy her a normal cot? And one more question, should I move Ava into a toddler bed yet? One of the ones with rails so she can’t fall out? She can sit up and stumble around a bit… Thank you x x
may I just add …blazing_fire my daughter is nineteen months old.
Are you serious about this question? or did you just want to mention your 8 bedroom home? Redundant.

A home is a most precious place in the world. It is the most beautiful place one could ever have. A home is a place to live with comfort. It is usually a place in which an individual or a family can rest and be able to store personal property. Most modern-day households contain sanitary facilities and a means of preparing food. Animals have their own homes as well, either living in the wild or in a domesticated environment. A house is more than home; a home is where your heart is at peace and where one can rest after a long day’s work. A home is not only made by floors, furniture’s, walls etc, it’s also made by peoples who live in the home.
The word “home” can be used for various types of residential institutions in which people can live, such as old home, play home, nursing homes, group homes, society , and foster homes.
The work of an interior designer draws upon many disciplines including environmental psychology, architecture, product design, and traditional decoration (aesthetics and cosmetics). They plan the spaces of almost every type of building including: hotels, corporate spaces, schools, hospitals, private residences, shopping malls, theaters, restaurants and airport terminals
In computer terminology, a ‘home’ may refer to a starting view that branches off into other tasks, e.g. a homepage or a desktop. Many such home pages on the internet start with introductory information, recent news or events, and links to subpages. “Home” may also refer to a home directory which contains the personal files of a given user of the computer system. for more information see here
