If you see a mouse in your home, does that mean there are a hundred others you CAN’T see?
Like the same way that if you see one cockroach, you can bet there are a whole lot of others? I’m staying the night at a friend’s house, and…there was a mouse. Could it be an infestation?
Well, it depends. That might be the only mouse, or there might be anywhere from 2 to 20. If you are in a huge apartment building, 100 might be more reasonable. In the past, when relatives had mice problems, there were usually fewer than 6 at a time in the walls. We have had maybe 1 or 2 mice at a time every four years or so at our house. I found a wild baby mouse 20 years ago that was dying of something and scooped him up in a jar with some cotton on the bottom so at least he could die comfortably. We didn’t use that jar again in case he had something contagious.
