Can I control my home theatre system volume via my sky hd remote control?

I HAVE A SAMSUNG LCD TV AND SAMSUNG HOME THEATRE SYSTEM. WHEN I HAD A SKY+ BOX AND I USED THE VOLUME KEYS ON THE REMOTE IT WOULD CONTROL THE VOLUME ON MY HOME THEATRE SYSTEM ONLY AND THE TV SPEAKERS WOULD MUTE. NOW I HAVE A SKY HD BOX I CANNOT CONTROL MY HOME THATRE VOLUME VIA THE SKY REMOTE AND THE TV SPEAKERS REMIAN ENABLED.

It is possible i did it but like it wernt me it was ma husband friend LOL who installed it 4 us. I think you have to enter the code in it. (found on the back of the remote batery cover thingy)
